Who Are Vera Wilton Optometrists?

Mark qualified as an optometrist in 1999. A passionate clinician with a clear eye for detail. Outside of Optometry, Mark enjoys spending time with Laura and their 2 children. The remainder of his spare time is spent outdoors, usually on his bike.

After qualifying as an Optometrist in 1979 Mrs Wilton established a practice in Dalton over 20 years ago and has seen it go from strength to strength. She has now reduced her workload having handed over the day to day running of the practice. This has given her more time to enjoy sailing and travelling the world, as well as concentrating on her charity work with Vision Aid Overseas.

Laura qualified as an optometrist in 1999 and has since prided herself in providing nothing less than clinical excellence to each of her clients. A passionate member of VAO, Laura has recently undergone the Volunteer Development Programme. She also loves to run, both road and trail but has not yet mustered the courage for a fell race. Watch this space!

Rachel started working in Optics in 1997, working her way up the ranks and qualifying as a Dispensing Optician in 2003. The same year she took her first Practice Manager position and has a wide range of knowledge and experience in all aspects of your optical experience be that frames, lenses or Contact lenses.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, keeping fit and cycling (although the latter usually includes a stop or two in a pub!!)

Al has worked in the practice for 9 years. She has built up strong relationships with patients and staff alike over this time. A keen walker in her spare time, Al has completed the Keswick to Barrow walk on several occasions.

Debbie joined the practice in 2010 as a receptionist. Debbie and her husband enjoy spending time on their motorbikes and attend rally’s countrywide.

Gail has joined us from Broadhurst Opticians in Preston and brings 8 years of dispensing assistant experience. Gail enjoys cooking, walking, cycling and training her new puppy.

Rick provides our Audiology and hearing care services. As an HCPC registered practitioner he is qualified to test and assess your needs, advise and fit the best hearing solutions available. Professional and personal, Rick believes that his role is to provide individually tailored solutions and on going friendly support.

Rick enjoys yoga and meditation away from work which may explain why he appears so calm!
