Eye Examinations

Combining technology with exceptional service for a thorough eye test.

Eye Tests in Dalton-in-Furness

Your eye examination will last for approximately 30 minutes, to allow time for our optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision.

During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual status (whether you might be long or short-sighted) and eye health. None of these are difficult or painful in any way but are important for our optometrist to be able to accurately prescribe any eyewear, if this is necessary.

Once your examination is complete, our optometrist will explain their findings to you, including any updates to your prescription that might be required. They’ll also be happy to answer any questions you have, as well as taking the time to recommend suitable products for your needs, wants and lifestyle.

OCT Scanning & Retinal Imaging

You will also have the opportunity to have retinal photographs and a 3D scan using our state-of-the-art OCT machine taken as part of your examination, which consequently enables a thorough check of your eye health.

Many eye conditions, including glaucoma and macular degeneration, can be detected in the very early stages by retinal screening. This allows us to proactively manage your eye care and spot any potential problems before they become advanced.

This in turn allows faster and more effective treatment for you. Our OCT scanning is offered as part of the private eye examination and available to NHS patients at an additional price.

If you have any questions about this service, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Emergency Eyecare

If you have noticed a sudden change to your vision, blurriness, discomfort or red, painful eyes then contact us as we are able to offer emergency eyecare appointments.

Our optometrists will be able to carefully check the health of your eyes to diagnose and recommend treatment or refer to your local GP or hospital eye department if required.
